<Qualifications>

Due to the increased challenges of running this year’s camp, volunteers must meet the following qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in grades 8 through 12 (entering 9th grade or up in fall)

  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (speaking and listening)

<Program Cost>

Application Fee:  $50

Non-refundable application fee:  $30

Refundable Reservation deposit:  $100

(A $100 refundable reservation deposit per camp session is required after you are admitted as a volunteer. If you reserve more than one camp, the deposit will be $100 per camp. This fee is intended to secure your position. )

<Refund Policy>

  • Application Fee: If you are not admitted, a $20 refund will be issued to the credit card.

  • Refundable Reservation deposit: 

    -The deposit will be returned upon successful completion of all service obligations.

    -The deposit will be forfeited if the volunteer does not complete service due to any of the following reasons:

      a) “The volunteer voluntarily withdraws before the final day of service.”

      b) “The volunteer is dismissed by camp staff due to violations of the code of conduct.”

❗A partial refund of the deposit may be granted if the volunteer is unable to complete service due to illness. A doctor’s note is required.❗

<Meal Ordering>

Meal ordering is available in the San Francisco Bay Area and is not available in Seattle. The cost is $100 for the 5-day camp and $80 for the 4-day camp. If you would like to order lunch, you will be asked about it when we send the TA results via email.

<Camp Hours & Digital Certification>

Volunteers must attend the camp for the whole session and cannot leave early. A maximum of 55 service hours (for 5-day camp) or 45 service hours (for 4-day camp) may be awarded at the end of each camp session. We will verify your total hours based on your daily sign-in and sign-out records and mail the digital certificate to your provided address around July 30th.

  • Schedule for 5-Day Camp (A maximum of 55 service hours )

    Monday (Day 1): 7:15 am – 5:45 pm

    Tue – Thu: 7:45 am – 5:45 pm

    Friday: 7:45 am – 4:00 pm

  • Schedule for 4-Day Camp (A maximum of 45 service hours )

Monday (Day 1): 7:15 am – 5:45 pm

Tue – Wed: 7:45 am – 5:45 pm

Thursday: 7:45 am – 4:00 pm
