Every time you bring your kids back to Taiwan, beyond the family dinners and familiar streets, you quietly hope for something more — that they'll truly know this place. Not just pass through it, but carry it with them.
That kind of connection is hard to plan for.
Backstage Taiwan offers a different way in.
Six days, side by side with Taiwanese teens their own age — going where textbooks don't reach and family visits rarely go. A wholesale market at 3AM, where the city's entire food supply gets sorted before sunrise. Coastal fishing villages where people still live off the sea. Neighborhoods deep in the city, doing work that's essential and almost entirely invisible.
They don't go as visitors. They go with a mission — to observe, to ask questions, and to piece together a portrait of Taiwan that belongs to their generation.
When it's over, they bring home more than photos. They bring home a story they can tell their grandparents — a memory of Taiwan that's entirely their own.
In a world moving faster every year, what kids truly need goes far beyond what any textbook can teach.
Backstage Taiwan builds four capacities that are hardest to replace:
① The ability to define the right problem Learning to ask the question that actually matters, in complex real-world situations
② Systems thinking Understanding how cities, communities, and supply chains are all connected
③ Resilience under pressure Working through real — but manageable — difficulty, and choosing not to give up
④ Cross-cultural collaboration Working alongside people from different backgrounds to get things done
After these six days, your kids won't just have visited Taiwan. They'll have started to understand it — and along the way, to understand themselves.

Backstage Taiwan
Backstage Taiwan
