A promise to our community for over 25 years
Originally our Chinese Folk Arts Summer Camp started as a way for immigrant families in our community to bridge the divide between our children and their cultural heritage. Though our children live half a world away, they have every reason to learn about their background, be proud of their roots, and be inspired by our culture's many traditions and help keep them alive.
Today, learning Chinese language and culture has become increasingly popular for all, and there is so much to explore and appreciate. Chinese cultural history is incredibly diverse and varied. Customs and traditions stemming from over 5,000 years ago are still retained today. Chinese philosophy, art, and science greatly affected the development of the western world, and sharing this history with our children serves only to expand their worldview and enliven their imagination.
We welcome children from all backgrounds to join us in the summer and experience the joy of Chinese culture together. Whether you'd like your child to reconnect with our cultural heritage or just learn more about Chinese culture and arts, our camp will help your child develop greater cultural awareness in our increasingly interconnected global community.
We use the liveliest, most engaging methods to introduce children to this wealth of information. Your child will have hands-on opportunities to build crafts, practice martial arts, and present traditional Chinese performing arts on stage, equipping them with invaluable skills and stimulating their curiosity. Our goal is to provide a safe, educational, and fun environment where children can learn to appreciate Chinese culture without leaving America.
